To mark the 150th anniversary of Captain Matthew Webb’s historic swim across the English Channel, Great Dawley Town Council has partnered with local author Sarah Griffiths to create a new children’s book honouring the legendary Dawley-born swimmer — and inspire a new generation with his remarkable story.
Last Saturday, Cllr Ben Carter – Mayor of Great Dawley, along side Cllr Ollie Vickers – Telford & Wrekin Borough Councillor and Cabinet Member for Economy, were delighted to officially open Trinity Martial Arts, located just off George Street, Dawley.

Last Friday (24th January), Great Dawley Town Council proudly awarded the Freedom of the Town to two individuals, Lord Kuldip Sahota and Mandie Haywood, in recognition of their extraordinary service and commitment to the Great Dawley community over the years.
