Great Dawley Celebrates Local Hero Captain Webb with New Children’s Book and Community Events
To mark the 150th anniversary of Captain Matthew Webb’s historic swim across the English Channel, Great Dawley Town Council has partnered with local author Sarah Griffiths to create a new children’s book honouring the legendary Dawley-born swimmer — and inspire a new generation with his remarkable story.

Seaside Trip to Barmouth – Tickets on sale soon!
Our Seaside Trip to Barmouth will be taking place on Wednesday 21st August. Tickets for the trip will be going on sale next Monday (15th July) at our office on the High Street.

It’s the final countdown for Dawley Day celebrations!
Residents of Great Dawley are gearing up to celebrate and join in with the fun at this year’s Dawley Day, taking place next week (Saturday 22nd June) on Dawley High Street and Dawley Park.
