Plastic Free Great Dawley

Great Dawley Town Council are committed to supporting the ‘Plastic Free Communities’ UK wide campaign by working with the local community, businesses, and schools to reduce the use of single use plastic in Great Dawley.

Great Dawley Town Council are working towards a plastic free community through the initiative by Surfers Against Sewage as well as supporting the Borough of Telford and Wrekin on the declaration on climate change.

Surfers against sewage state that:

“we are creating a plastic free community network to free where we live from single use plastic. Together we are tackling avoidable single-use plastic, from the beach all the way back to the brands and businesses who create it.
It’s not about removing all plastics from our lives. It’s about kicking our habits to avoidable single use plastic and changing the system that produces it. Join us and let’s free where we live from single-use, one plastic bottle at a time.”
